Manna for Our Spirit

God rained down manna from heaven to feed the Israelites while in the wilderness. Did you realize He still supplies us with manna?

Loss

Loss is an inevitability of life. Mainly because as sure as we take our first breath there is guaranteed to be a last one. When we love others whether blood family, friends or spouses we are going to go through the pain of loss if we live long enough. It doesn't seem fair especially when we lose someone we love tragically or if they had to suffer a long battle with an illness that took them away from us. The thing that can make loss worse for some of us is trying to deal with it in a way that will make other people happy instead of going through the emotional process until we get to a place of healing for ourselves.

Kindling for Praise

As much as we try to keep God's praises in our minds, hearts, spirits and mouths there are times where we fall short. We are human, and it is hard for God's praise to continually be in our mouths. I am not talking about every second of the day because we would get nothing else said. I am referring to not giving praise on a daily basis. It is not that we don't want to give praise, but things in life have weighed down our minds and spirits making it difficult to kindle that fire from which praise is formed in us.

Quick Post (Mobile): Joyful Spirit

Forgive typos please I am blogging from my mobile.
This post is to encourage all to find joy and to delight yourself in the LORD always.
If  we can't find that joyful spirit, look back at all God has brought you through. When I do, I realize I am blessed and favored.

I AM

God said to Moses, "I AM WHO I AM"; and He said, "Thus you shall say to the sons of Israel, 'I AM has sent me to you.'" (Exodus 3:14 NASB)

Help. Where Does Yours Come From?

I will lift up my eyes to the mountains; from where shall my help come? My help comes from the LORD, Who made heaven and earth. He will not allow your foot to slip; He who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, He who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. The LORD is your keeper; The LORD is your shade on your right hand. The sun will not smite you by day, nor the moon by night. The LORD will protect you from all evil; He will keep your soul. The LORD will guard your going out and your coming in from this time forth and forever. (Psalm 121 NASB)

It is Finished!

"It is finished!"

There is such a finality in that statement. You can't help be convinced that it is finished. Guess what? It is! On that Good Friday, Our Savior Yeshua Ha'Mashiach/ Jesus the Christ proclaimed with his last breath, "It is finished!"

Don't Delight in the Despair of Others

We are living in very hard economic times, not just in the United States but the World. With such hard times comes events that bring hardship and despair on an individual basis. When hard times come upon a person or the threat of unemployment comes to someone we know, we should not wish for it to happen or rejoice in it.

Christ

Our faith derives its name from the word. Our Savior is often called by it. But what exactly does Christ mean? Should we even refer to Jesus as simply Christ?

Blessings in the Everyday Stuff

Praise and Worship by Laura Sotka, 2008
Recently the nation had Mega Millions fever with a little over a half billion jackpot. Three winning tickets were discovered and I've heard many people saying how they wished they had received such a blessing. I hear people speak of waiting for blessings to come into their life but these blessings are always big ones. People want to be blessed with the big stuff like monetary gifts, trips and material things. Sometimes even those in the Body of Christ become envious when it seems like others are blessed with these things and we are not. When all you can talk about is being blessed or wanting to be blessed with the bigger, finer things in life, then it is time to realign your focus.

Adonai

For many Christians, Adonai is not a new found word for them. If nothing else, I believe The Passion of the Christ has helped many recognize that Adonai is one of the names used for YHVH God. However, what some may not be aware of is that Adonai is the plural form of Adon which means Lord. Did that just make a big question mark appear over your head? Well allow me to explain. Well, maybe more like simplify it a bit for you.

The Struggle to Make Time for God

Brooklyn Museum - The Lord's Prayer (Le Pater Noster) - James Tissot
In a day and time when God is needed more than ever, I find myself struggling to find time for Him. Unfortunately, I know I am not the only one who struggles to find time for God and His Word. So much time is devoted to work, family, friends, leisure and we often find ourselves taking out a couple of hours a week for God. In order to build a personal relationship with God and building an intimate knowledge of His Word, we need more than a church service or two a week.
