Happy Resurrection! (HE IS RISEN)

I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. - Revelation 22:13 KJV

Christ is risen

This day is celebrated by Christians all over the world. It is called different names by different denominations within the faith. I call it Resurrection Day because that is what it is. Jesus, was resurrected after His crucifixion. We know more happened than just His death and resurrection. Much more than this post can disclose.

At the heart of it is this:

One man took on the sins of the world. One man served as the atonement or scapegoat for all sin, each strike on his flesh that lead to physical stripes on His body atoned for a sin. "But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him, and with his stripes we are healed." - Isaiah 53:5 KJV

With his death and resurrection, he conquered the punishment of Adam's sin. Therefore, the curse of death no longer bound us. "I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death." - Revelation 1:18 KJV

The death spoken of was not just the physical death. It was spiritual death. Jesus' resurrection gave a physical representation for us to understand. Right now, one could be at or near spiritual death due their unbelief. However, through Jesus they can be made spiritually alive again. "But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept. For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive." - 1 Corinthians 15:20-22 KJV

That is why Jesus told, before his death, "Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live" - John 11:25 KJV
